Meet Mitchell Howarth — Clinical Psychologist With a Special Interest in OCD
Helping People Overcome OCD With Proven Treatments
Hi, I’m Mitchell Howarth, the Director and Clinical Psychologist at OCD Clinic Sydney.

I have a special interest in helping people with OCD and have dedicated my career to using the most effective, evidence-based treatments available — Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

- “My goal is to give you the tools and skills you need to manage OCD effectively and reclaim your life.”
A Supportive and Personalised Approach
I know that reaching out for help can feel daunting. That’s why I focus on providing a supportive, encouraging, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable every step of the way.
I tailor every treatment plan to suit your unique situation, whether we’re working together:
-
In-person at our Sydney clinic
-
Online via secure telehealth video sessions
-
Out in the real world — in your home, workplace, or community — when real-life exposures are needed
No matter where you are on your journey, therapy is always designed around your needs.

Therapy Backed by Research, Tailored to You
I only use evidence-based treatments that research shows to be most effective for OCD:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP helps you face fears gradually and safely, reducing compulsive behaviours and breaking the cycle of OCD.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that drive anxiety and compulsions.
Both therapies are highly effective when combined and tailored to your symptoms.
