At the OCD Clinic Sydney, we treat all forms of OCD and welcome anyone who is struggling with the condition.
Common types of OCD are described below. Don't worry if you can't find you specific type of OCD in the list. Your OCD is likely to be slightly different and unique to you. Thankfully, all types of OCD can be treated (including yours) and we will tailor your OCD treatment to your specific needs.

Intense fears about Obsessions: fears of getting contaminated by germs, dirt, grime, disease, illness, bad places or people
Compulsions include excesssive hand washing, cleaning, using gloves or tissues to handle things, avoiding 'dirty' places, people or objects​

Harm OCD
Obsessions: fears of causing harm to self or others - eg:

Compulsions: repeatedly checking things (e.g., doors, locks, stoves), avoiding things (e.g., refusing to drive, use knives) or asking for reassurance

'Just Right' OCD
Obsessions: needing things to be 'just right', perfect, exact, symmetrical, in the correct order or arrangement

Compulsions: counting, ordering or repeating things over and over until they feel 'just right', refusing to finish tasks unless they are done perfectly

Obsessing about whether you might be gay, or a paedophile
Compulsions: avoiding people or places out of a fear of unwanted attraction; asking for reassurance (e.g. that you are not gay, not attracted to kids); or checking to see if you aren't attracted to people who trigger your OCD fears

Obsessions around whether you have lied or been dishonest, or have commited a sin
